ATTICA. Athens. Circa 485/480 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 21 mm, 17.52 g, 1 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with a row of pellets and circular earring. Rev. [A]ΘE Owl standing right, head facing; to left, olive sprig; all within incuse square. Asyut Group Vb and pl. XXXII, J. HGC 4, 1591. Seltman Group F. Svoronos pl. 2, 39-40 var. (no pellets on helmet). Very rare with the pellets on the helmet, and with a wonderful archaic head of Athena. Minor marks and with small flan faults on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
